一、研究员岗位职责和相关要求 

 

 
1)岗位职责:作为学术技术带头人(Principal Investigators),组建并带领团队在相关的学科前沿独立开展科学研究和技术创新,并积极承担和争取国家与企业的重要课题和支持。 
 
2)基本要求 
 
a.恪守科学道德,学风正派、诚实守信、严谨治学,团队合作精神强,具有为科技事业发展和经济社会服务而艰苦创业的奉献精神; 
 
b.具有开阔的学术视野、前瞻能力,能敏锐把握本学科领域国家战略需求和世界科学前沿发展态势; 
 
c.具有先进管理理念和较强的组织协调能力,能承担重大科技任务,并组织、推动和实施重大科技创新活动; 
 
d.已在本学科或技术领域开展了较为系统的创新工作,做出过具有国际水平的研究成果或技术创新,在重要核心刊物上发表过有影响的学术论文或掌握关键技术、拥有重要的发明专利等; 
 
e.在物理、化学、材料、机电、微电子、生物、医学、环境工程相关领域等获博士学位; 
 
f.全职全时到岗。

Beijing Institute of Nanoenergy and Nanosystems (BINN), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) invites applications for tenured or tenure-track faculty positions in the level of ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR and FULL PROFESSOR, with an anticipated start date as soon as is available. Outstanding candidates with a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Bioengineering, or relevant disciplines, will be considered. Candidates with a strong background and exceptional research accomplishment are preferred. While we expect to hire at the Assistant Professor level and up, candidates at other ranks will be considered as well. We are seeking individuals with outstanding accomplishments in research and scholarship, skills in supervision of graduate student research, and graduate teaching, and possibly interest in guiding undergraduate research. Both faculty hires will play a key role in the growth of the BINN. 
 
Both the Associate and Full Professor are principal investigators, who will lead a research group to carry out research in the following fields, but not limited to the following fields: 
 
 Nano piezoelectric semiconductor materials, including fabrication and characterization of new materials, nanostructure, the related basic theory researches, etc.  
 
 Nanogenerator, self-charging power pack, hybrid cell for harvesting multi-type energies, nano optoelectronics technology.  
 
 Micro/nano systems, including nanosensor and micro/nano power generator and its applications in biomedicine, environmental and infrastructure monitoring, the internet of things, etc.  
 
 Piezotronics and piezo-phototronics.  
 
 Coupling sensor and its applications in flexible electronics, the interface between human and machine, biological interaction and bionic technology.  
 
The terms of employment in BINN are comparable to U.S. institutions with respect to start-up research support, including 5-year startup funding, labs, students, extensive opportunities for collaboration both within the Institute and with neighboring Universities/institutions; and highly internationally competitive compensation and benefits, including housing subsidies and educational subsidies for children (within CAS system). BINN (www.binn.cas.cn), founded in 2012, is an independent research institute jointly supported by CAS and the city of Beijing. The mission of the BINN is not only carrying out fundamental study in science, but also in applied science, and more importantly, in the area of technology transfer and commercialization.  
 
BINN (www.binn.cas.cn) was jointly established by Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Beijing city in 2012, and the founding and current chair is Prof. Zhong Lin Wang, who is one of the most famous scientists in nanoscience and nanotechnology. Dr. Wang is the world leader in ZnO nanostructure research. His discovery and breakthroughs in developing nanogenerators establish the principle and technological road map for harvesting mechanical energy from environment and biological systems for self-powered personal electronics. He also coined and pioneered the field of piezotronics and piezo-phototronics by introducing piezoelectric potential gated charge transport process in fabricating new electronic and optoelectronic devices, which have potential applications in MEMS/NEMS, nanorobotics, human-electronics interface, sensors, medical diagnosis and photovoltaic. 
 
BINN now has over 300 researchers, students and administrative people. There are already 18 principal investigators (PIs), with average age of 35. All PIs have research experience outside of mainland China. Among them, 6 are in the national “1000 Talent Plan”.
